This is a heartbreaker.
I've loved this bike since 2004.
I've always wanted one, had newer GS bikes, but never this classic bike.
I found it a couple years ago.
Story goes, an older guy bought it in December 2005, new.
He rode if for a year and passed away.
His widow had neighbors that would come over and start it occasionally for the next 16 years.
It wasn't ridden.
I found and paid way too much for it.
I then had new tires installed and a full service done, made sure the servo brakes were working (they are) at the same dealership that it was serviced at all those years ago.
Cost, $1251.
18.
I then road it for a month or so and noticed the clutch slipping.
Took it back and then did EVERYTHING to it.
Cost, $3783.
13 When I bought it, it only had one side case, so I tracked down two more, one had a pretty mangled lid, but with some rock straps, it's usable.
Harder to find, and pricier than I care to admit.
I then bought a heated Corbin sear with a backrest and a sweet touring screen.
I have the original seat and screen as well.
I rode the bike 700 miles in two days, and it was flawless.
Such a great bike.
Battery is strong, starts up just fine, and everything works perfectly.
Only problem isI have 3 other bikes and, two teenage drivers, two more drivers on the way, and an angry wife.
I can't part with my other bikes yet, so this one must go.
It's a beauty.
All in, I'm in it way more than 10k, but my loss isn't your problem.
It's a stunning bike.
